Valentine's Day

When given the choice to make or buy valentine cards for their classmates this year, both kids decided to make them.  Because I said I was sticking to my no candy rule, I think they decided home-made were more fun than the pre-made without candy.  Allie found an adorable penguin idea on-line and Peyton opted to borrow a clever "Cutie" idea he found.  Both enjoyed the creative process and were pleased with the final product.

Another Tuesday with Teddy and Stevie

February 4, 2020 - I enjoyed the company of Teddy and Stevie this morning.  It was snowing as we got Peyton and Allison off to school.  We watched it fall all morning.  As much as we wanted it to stick, so we could go out and play in the snow, it did not.  So, we made our own "snow" play fun indoors.  Teddy and Stevie enjoyed playing in shaving cream, which predictably warranted a bath to clean them up afterwards!  Just like playing outdoors, we  really worked up an appetite and enjoyed snowman bagels and warm cocoa. 

Phew.  Is it nap time, yet?

Under the Sea Dance

Allison was just as excited to go to the father/daughter dance this year, as she was the previous two years.  It has become a fun family tradition.  With an "Under the Sea" theme, finding something to wear was obvious.  Dressed and confident in her Little Mermaid dress, Allison allowed me to take a few photos, before heading out for the night, with her dad.

Sing Your Heart Out

Peyton was excited to be invited to participate in the, "Sing Your Heart Out," choir festival again this year.   4th and 5th grade students from local elementary schools all met for the first time in the morning for a one day only opportunity.  Under the direction of Nancy Dole (Olympia Youth Chorus), they rehearsed all morning.  Family and friends were invited back at 2:00 for a delightful concert.  It was a unique, challenging and wonderful experience for Peyton.

Snow!

We woke this morning to a beautiful white blanket of corn snow.  Then, the sun came out just as we were headed outside to play.  It wasn't much, but it was enough to enjoy a snowball fight and build a snow dog during our 2-hour school delay.

Winter Cheer Clinic

Allison jumped at the opportunity to participate in the OHS Winter Cheer Clinic again this year.  Again, she loved it.  I think she really enjoys learning the dance routine, but most of all, I think, she really enjoys getting to know the high school cheer buddies.  They seem to enjoy the time with the younger girls, too.  It's a win-win experience for all!
