Snow!

As we were getting ready to embark on our holiday travels this weekend, with the stress really starting to take it's toll on our family, suddenly, like magic, snow happened! This small gift, while annoying in the many ways that it forces you to alter your plans, was also a blessing. In only the way that snow can, especially the kind of snow we have in the northwest, it reminded us to slow down, look up and pause simply to enjoy the gift while it lasts, since we all know how quickly snow can come and go around here.

I always marvel at the miracle, magic and beauty that the first snow brings. Peyton, a snow pro for all the snow days he's logged into his 2 short years, couldn't recall, except from stories and pictures exactly what snow was, let alone what all the fuss was about. After watching it fall for quite some time from the inside looking out, and then after squite a bit of coercing, I dressed him in his new snow gear and headed out to explore. I think he "gets it" now. He had a blast and even got his "snow plow" out to help Daddy clear the deck.

Enjoy the snow while it lasts!
