Snow!

Our first day of winter vacation began with snow!  We woke up to a mini winter wonderland.  Peyton's excitement and energy were contagious.  Allison, like her brother, seemed eager to experience the wonders of snow.   After breakfast we bundled up in snow gear.  Our 3 pairs of infant mittens were no where to be found the morning of our snow day.  I took her outside anyway.

Once outside, Allison was faced with many challenging obstacles, which led to much frustration.  She is steady on her feet these days, but walking on soft, uneven grass is tricky.  Walking on soft, uneven grass, covered with snow is even trickier.  Add the layers of clothing and bulky snow suit and it's next to impossible.  She kept falling, unable to get up.  This wouldn't have been so bad if her little hands hadn't have been bare, wet and cold.  Still, she seemed be in awe of the snow.  I know she enjoyed watching her brother play and loved the snowman he built.  Serious much of the time, she did crack a few smiles while we were outside enjoying the snow.

Overall, our first snow day of the season was delightful!
