On Sunday, 3 of my dear friends, Ashlie, Natalie, Wendy (with kids and Sue, her mom), braved the wet roads and made the long drive to our house for a fun brunch and birthday celebration. The celebration was partly in honor of me, but the day really belonged to Julia, who was turning 3! I was overjoyed to have our home filled with good friends and good food (although we missed those who couldn't be there). It has been a long time since we have hosted any kind of gathering, and I really enjoyed it. Even more enjoyable, was having a chance to sit down and chat with my friends (thanks, Steve, for taking over and letting me relax).
