Uncle Dave Got Married

We got lucky. The rain clouds blew away (mostly) and the sun came out to play just in time for Dave and Betsy's wedding last weekend (9/10-9/12). It wasn't hot, but it was nice enough, which was a welcome break after the wet week we had had and a relief for the bride and groom.

This was one of the most unique and truly personalized weddings I have ever been to. We were invited to camp for the weekend at Mason Lake and enjoy the great outdoors. Since the weather cooperated, we were able to do just that. Steve even braved the chilly lake water and got to ride behind the boat a time or two. Peyton and I enjoyed the ride inside the boat.

It was a lovely weekend and the wedding and reception was the highlight. David and Betsy are wonderful people who surround themselves with equally unique and like-minded family and friends. It was fun to meet the important people in their lives; especially since we share some of their terrific friends!

Despite late bedtimes, the busyness of camping and constant activity among tons of people, not to mention the poor/lack of sleep in the tent, Peyton was a delight to be with all weekend long. Although, we spent the week recovering. Still, we had a great time and were glad to be apart of this special weekend. Even Peyton, a week and a half later, is still talking about the weekend, "Uncle Dave got married."
