When Coach Jami invited Peyton to join her team, we couldn't say no. We second guessed our decision, but wanted Peyton to try soccer (or any sport). He had been reluctant to try.
If he was as hesitant as he said he was in the weeks leading up to the season, we couldn't tell. He jumped right into the game with enthusiasm, confidence and a smile. It was so nice to seem him pushing himself beyond his comfort level, feeling proud about his accomplishments and for being a part of something special, which he was.
Coach Jami was terrific. She challenged the team (boy did they run!), encouraged them and kept it fun, all while teaching the fundamentals of the game...not an easy task.
Spring soccer was definitely a success!
