Spring Piano Recital - Allison's 1st!

Earlier in the year, Peyton's schedule became too busy to take piano lessons (for a few weeks).  Allison decided she was ready to start piano, so we sent her to hold Peyton's lesson time. A few weeks later, the talk turned the spring piano recital.

Allison was given the choice to watch, or participate.  With some uncertainty, and lots of excitement, she decided to participate in the spring recital.  She even memorized her song.  On the day of the recital, she eagerly dressed in her new jumper outfit, accessorized with the hat she made at the tea party.  Confident, and a little jittery, we headed to the recital.

Both kids were poised as they approached the piano and they seemed calm as they sat down to play in front of their audience.  Obviously, how we present on the outside, does not necessarily mirror how we feel on the inside.  Piano recitals are the ultimate personal challenge and the ultimate personal accomplishment.  In my book, my kids are superheroes - brave & accomplished!

Feeling proud (and relieved!) we all enjoyed the refreshments and socialization that followed.
