Hike to Elkhorn Campground,

"Congrats on an amazing school year. We're so proud of you two. To show our love and appreciation, we're taking you backpacking. 3 days. 2 nights. Bring only what you can carry on your back and can't live without. Oh, and it probably will rain," we said.
"Yay!" they replied.
I'm always surprised by how much we look forward to these experiences together. They really are special and rewarding. So is returning home. I like my bed.
Day 1 - The hike to camp.
Taking a break from the pack.
Looking for geometric shapes in nature and making a few of our own.

Day 2 - Day hike to Olympic National Park border.
Gathering firewood on our hike back to camp.
Day 3 - Rise & Shine!
Pack up and hike back to the car.
