Last Monday we headed up to the Pearl Jam concert with one neighbor couple, Derek and Sarah. Then, on Saturday, they took us Cruisin'. This couple is somewhat known around town for cruising around on these incredibly unique, hard to describe cruiser bikes. They definitely draw attention, invite conversation and are a whole heck of a lot of fun - so are Derek and Sarah.
Saturday was a gorgeous fall day and perfect for bike riding. We enjoyed the leisurely pace these bikes encourage; leaving time to enjoy the blue sky, fall colors and chit chat while riding. We steered off the main road and away from the traffic noise, instead preferring to meander down side streets, through neighborhoods, along the boardwalk once downtown and eventually to The Farmer's Market before winding our way back to a nearby park where a car awaited our arrival to shuttle us back up the hills to our neighborhood. Good thinking!
Peyton did remarkable well on this new adventure and even drifted off to sleep for a few brief minutes at the very end of the ride.
We took a few other pictures ourselves, but Derek is a professional photographer. Enough said.
A quick posed shot. Steve and I actually each rode our own individual cruiser bikes, courtesy of Derek and Sarah. Derek and Sarah did actually peddle Peyton around town on this bike.
Here's Tae Boy all geared up and ready for the ride! We tried the helmet on Peyton during breakfast that morning. He took off toddling around the house in it, which was hilarious and than promptly cried when we took the helmet off that first time. He loved it! The novelty did eventually wear off as he got more tired and his head and the helmet gradually fell forward blocking his view and causing discomfort. We definitely have a biker in the making!
Let us know when you're all healed up. We can do a recovery celebration ride :)
