Sand In The City

Every year around this time our local Hands On Children's Museum has it's major fund raising event. This means that the waterfront of downtown Olympia is transformed for Sand In The City. Some years it's too hot. Some years it's too wet. This year, it's just right! No matter the weather, it's guaranteed to be a weekend of big fun for kids of all ages, which Grandpa proved for us this afternoon.

The festivities are just beginning as activities and the construction of the sponsored sand sculptures will continue well into the weekend. If you live near by, head on down to check it out! There will be crowds, but once you weave through to the sand box, bubble station, or find yourself meandering off the beaten path to the nearby shore to throw a few rocks, you will find yourself settling right in. Get down and get dirty, if you dare (Grandpa sure did), and I promise you will have fun and you won't be sorry.
