A Day Out With Thomas

When we woke up last Friday, July 15th, we were full of joy and excitement! This day was long in coming and highly anticipated. We knew it would be a great adventure and a wonderful day. We were not only going to meet Thomas, but we were also going to take our first train ride! There isn't much more that would satisfy our little boy's dreams (except maybe a day out with Bob the Builder).

Watching Thomas pull into the station after completing his first "big job" of the day.

Our day was scheduled to begin with a morning train ride (pulled by Thomas, no less) up North in Snoqualmie. But, to arrive on time, our adventure actually began much earlier. Grama and Grampa met us at our house. We rushed to get in the car and away we drove to meet our "cheeky" friend, Thomas. Peyton talked non-stop on our drive north entertaining us as he commentated from the back seat all the construction happenings he saw along the side of the road. Just as he began to wonder if we would ever really meet Thomas, we arrived!

Peyton's chatter stopped almost exactly when the car did, as he took in the surroundings of "A Day Out With Thomas." This was a big deal and there was much to process. He took his outing quite seriously.

The actual train ride left a bit to be desired - for the adults anyway. It was 15 minutes. Tops. Out and back. For a little fella, who has never been on the train however, it was memorable. We had the inside scoop to sit on a specific side of the train, which we did, so we did catch a nice glimpse of not only Snoqualmie Falls, but we also had a fantastic view of the massive construction site along side the falls, complete with all of Peyton's favorite working machines and construction workers scattered about - all in motion! This alone, was almost as exciting as meeting of Thomas. Almost.

Settling into the train ride and checking out the scenery from the train window.
Spotting the construction site!

I'm thankful to my mom, who had heard about "A Day Out With Thomas," and encouraged us to go. It was completely worth it and will definitely be a day to remember. Thanks, Mom & Dad!
