Victoria, BC

Victoria, BC (July 2-5)
You know you've arrived in Victoria when you see this grand view of
The Empress Hotel towering above the harbor.

It wasn't hard to stay busy, yet we joked on the way home from vacation that there was really very little that we did to occupy our time in Victoria that we couldn't have done at home. The difference is that if we were home we wouldn't have done most of what we did, let alone enjoy the pure bliss of doing it, in the moment.

Realizing that we do have to remove ourselves from the home we love - but rarely sit down in and relax, or allow ourselves to play for hours in - we knew to take full advantage of Steve's time off from work. So we left our humble abode to take our last vacation as a family of 3.

So glad we did! We truly spent 4 days slowing down the pace of our life and enjoying family time. No rush. No to-do list. No car. No expectations. Just the 3 of us living in the moment - together.

Our "in the moment" memories:

Parkside Victoria Resort & Spa.

A luxurious "home away from home."

Peyton posing with The Parliament in the background.

Exploring the parks & playgrounds off the beaten path.

Peyton's first ice cream cone.
It was a big hit!

Beacon Hill Park.

The Playground at Beacon Hill was a popular attraction...
...As was the Beacon Hill Petting Zoo!

Our horse & carriage ride - a special treat.
Thanks Herbie for being such a wonderful horse!

The Ferry Ride Home.
View of The Olympics from the harbor in Victoria.

On the way home - Mt. Baker.

Just the 3 of us living in the moment - together.
