Gavin had been talking about planning a mid-week playdate for several weeks. We finally got one scheduled. On Wednesday, Ella's nanny, Anna, drove Ella down to play with us. We met at Grama's. The weather was mild and dry, and the tide was low, allowing the girls the opportunity to explore the many splendors of the waterfront. The long, steep trail that provides access to the beach seems ever more challenging when walking behind a toddler, but both girls seemed to enjoy their hike, as well. It is fun to see the girls watch each other, and explore their new surroundings with wide eyes, curiosity and enthusiasm. As quickly as they are growing, and as challenging as it is to find time to get the whole families together, I hope that we can enjoy more mid-week playdates together in the coming weeks and months so these two cousins can get to know one another and build a lasting friendship.
