Friend Party, 12-2:00pm
Peyton was both excited and extremely helpful when it came to planning is Lego themed 7th birthday this year. He sorted out pieces of his many lego kits and spent the days leading up to his party reassembling each individual lego kit to be used as party decorations. With his extra legos, he spelled out "Peyton's Lego Party." He also took it upon himself to make a lego-man poster, which we decided we would make a cut-out for the head and arms and let his friends be photographed as lego people.
I was really proud of his participation in the pre-party planning and his suggestions and contributions were authentic and priceless! Peyton was happy to use our left over, mis-matched table wear and they complimented our multi-colored lego theme. We did purchase a lego kit to use for party activities. After the kids all took a guess as to how many legos were in the bowl, they had a opportunity to build with the colorful and time-less bricks. Each friend left the party with their own lego creations (along with extra legos). I think I can confidently say, "a fun time was had by all!"
After a short quiet time, we geared up later that evening for another celebration.
The Family Birthday Dinner, 4:30-7:30p.m.
Weather was in our favor by the evening (or maybe it was the wine), but the family was up for anything. Anything, it turns out, was the obstacle course planned and prepared by Peyton, for his friends, that didn't get used.
After appetizers and a lego-man word search and coloring challenge, the obstacle challenge commenced! The pictures really don't show the awesome-ness, nor the hilarity of this party event! I will insert personal judgement here, but not every grandson can say that his grama and auntie can still cartwheel like a school girl, nor that his grampa and uncle willingly leap through hula-hoops and waddle with a plastic bunny between their knees from point A to point B! Peyton is one lucky birthday boy to have such willing and able (youthful) elders! ;)

Peyton's family, ever the willing participants, and thrilled at discovering their youthful skills, next channeled their inner lego-man and struck their unique poses:
What a day! Happy 7th Birthday, Peyton! We sure do love you!
