Mima Falls Hike

It took some effort to get ourselves out of the house on Sunday.  Our efforts took us to the nearby Capitol Forest and the popular Mima Falls Trail.  Once parked, we gingerly stepped out of the car.  Gun shots firing in rapid succession could be heard nearby.  Very nearby.  Finally oriented by the map  at the trail head, we were somewhat relieved.  What we thought were gun shots, were.  But, they were  presumable coming from the local firing range.  So, onward we went.  As we hiked, the gun shots were only distant noise before quickly fading away altogether.  After that, we enjoyed a beautiful hike through the woods and enjoyed fall foliage and the companionship  of one another.  Feeling energized and exhausted, as one does after an outing with nature, we headed home, ready to take on another busy work week.

Target practice!
