Thursday, October 10th - Today was the last day of spirit week. It was also the Pumpkin Fund Run. As Peyton lamented, this was his last year to participate in it. So, as with most things, he made it his job to get the most out of the experience. Actually, both kids did. They set out to beat their number of laps from last year and both kids crushed their goal. In fact, we calculated that Allison and her friend, Ella, ran about 4.5 miles during their class hour! Peyton, and his buddies, ran close to 7 miles! This was the first year that no one asked me to run with them, so I cheered from the side lines and tallied the laps as they sped by me. Whether students choose to run, or walk, most are eager to participate and they make it look really fun! It's no wonder they look forward to this fundraising event year after year. I enjoy seeing kids out of the classroom, working up a sweat and having a blast! Plus, every dollar earned for the school, directly benefits the kids, which makes everyone a winner! Way to go Centennial staff, students and families, with extra special kudos to my favorite students, Peyton and Allison!
