Halfway (Six Months Review)

We're six months old today!

I can't believe we're already halfway there (to the first birthday that is). What an adventure it has been! Peyton's one lucky little dude because we are celebrating today in Maui.

Our Barracuda continues to: brighten our lives daily; validate us as loving (and perhaps overly protective) parents; teach us about patience, patience and more patience (with him, ourselves and each other); and helps to remind us about what is really important in life (we seem to need this reminder EVERY day).

Even at 5 months we all still seemed to hold on to a bit of the infancy stage, but in the last month we have completely outgrown it. Peyton is no longer an infant, but instead a baby through and through. February was a delightful month for the whole family. We enjoyed a lovely Valentine's Day and Steve welcomed another birthday. We also embraced many new milestones (including more regular and restful sleep, although I hate to mention it for fear of jinxing myself).

Memorable Firsts this Month:
1. Solid Foods
2. Sitting up alone
3. Rolling over (front to back over the left shoulder)
4. Swimming (pool and ocean)
5. Jumping and bouncing when held in a standing position
6. More laughs and fewer cries

That's all for now...we're off to the beach!

  1. Awesome! Happy milestones! Hard to believe he's already so big! Happy Hawaii, too! How was the flight? I LOVE the Bob with sand on the wheel in the background--like an ad for rugged babies that need their rugged gear! Happy vacation!

  2. Sadly, the rugged Bob got a flat on our last day! Watch out for giant prickly bushes that have giant needles. I'm glad it was the tire and not my foot! Still, Bob is a must for the beach. So many parents with babies commented to us that they wished they had brought theirs. So, on your next beach adventure, don't leave home without it!
