Snoqualmie Cabin

On Monday, December 28th, we packed up the Little Dude and our mountain gear and headed over Snoqualmie pass to spend some quality time with our good friends, The Alston's (Wendy, Brett, Oli and Scout) and The Gossett's (Natalie and Chris).

It was "snow" fun!

Peyton enjoyed his first sledding experience and because Oli so graciously shared his sled, we all got to take a turn, or two, ourselves. Thanks, Oli, for sharing your sled and the hill with us.

When we weren't outside playing in the snow, you probably would have found us indoors puzzling. The pressure was intense. In the end, we did complete our task. Twice. Once on our last evening there. Then, I got to do it again, in the wee hours of the next morning, when Peyton energetically got a hold of and yanked a corner of the masterpiece. I guess Peyton just didn't want to be left out of anything.

When he wasn't "helping" me put the puzzle together, he spent endless time "helping" Oli play with his toys. Or, following Scout around. He loved them both. Not sure how mutual the feelings were, but both were incredible patient and kind in tolerating Peyton and his 15 month old antics.

I love the look on Scout's face here. He's keeping a close eye on the little guy, especially since he's so close to his food. It's as if he's saying, "I let you push, pull, poke and prod me. I'll even let you follow me around and take my tennis balls later. Just don't touch my food." Notice Peyton's hands raised as if he's playing right along, "Alright, man. I didn't mean any trouble." Classic.

We back in the car and heading home all too soon. What a treat to enjoy so much time together. Thank you, Alston's and Gossett's, for a wonderful 3 day get-away. Thank you, Alston's, for letting us crash your relaxing vacation. We're happy to do it again, anytime!
