Peyton woke up from a long nap on Sunday at my parents house and was surprised and confused to discover that while he slept the first of his Christmas celebrations commenced. Aunt Hazel and Uncle Gavin drove down from Seattle since they will be with Hazel's family this coming weekend. It's been a while since we've seen them and Peyton took his time checking them out as he slowly came to from his groggy state. After a few bites of cracker, a swig of milk and an invitation from Uncle Gavin to "play," Peyton was ready to ham it up with his Aunt and Uncle. We had a relaxing time and it was a fine start to our holiday celebrations.
Peyton relearned yet again about the joy of giving (as he helped me wrap gifts earlier in the day) and getting (as he helped EVERYONE unwrap EVERY gift). Lucky for Peyton, this crowd was pleased and delighted with his joy and excitement - his peers will not be so willing to allow him to dominate gift opening in the future.
