4th of July

The initial scramble to get out of the house is always a bit chaotic, but once we decided there wasn't possibly "one last thing" to do, we were off for the day.  What a pleasant day it was!  We found ourselves in good company at Grandma and Grandpa's, as we were joined by Aunt Mollie and Uncle Brian, and Victoria.  Since the tide was way out early in the day, leaving plenty of shore to build and dig on, Peyton and Steve started their leisure time down on the rocky shores enjoying a bit of beach construction.  When the tide rolled back in over the mud, we brought out the paddle boards.  Grandma and Grandpa took their first turn of the summer and Aunt Mollie bravely ventured out for her first time ever.  The sun was shining.  The waters were calm.  It was a perfect beach day.

Here we are in the holiday spirit.
