Weekend = Fun

Friday
An afternoon picnic on the front lawn

Saturday
A visit to Auntie Hazel and Uncle Gavin's house in Seattle.

Mommy and Daddy enjoyed an "adult" evening with friends (Happy Birthday, Ashlie) while Peyton enjoyed time alone with Gavin and Hazel. It was only a few hours, but well worth it for all parties involved!

Sunday
Outside - Watching Daddy work in the yard.

This picture is deceiving - The fun was over before it began. By the time I got Peyton settled on the blanket and myself dressed down in work clothes, situated on my knees with my tools gathered around me and my first weed in hand, it was definitely time to head back inside. Steve stayed the course and got a lot accomplished in the yard yesterday. Thank you, honey! Peyton was a bit under the weather and had a different idea for how the day was going to go.

Inside - A more playful Peyton

Discovering the joy of baskets (and toys galore)!

Peyton loves to empty the contents of his toy basket out and play with each exciting discovery. This consumes him for long stretches at a time. I do feel guilty thinking about, let alone admitting, the fact that I'm probably over stimulating my child. But selfishly, I do enjoy the short bursts of time and freedom this new activity provides me. We learned this weekend that once empty, the toy basket is just as fun to sit in (thanks to Mommy for taking a break from her personal time to step in, interact and help her Little Dude get - and stay - safely inside)!
