Saturday:
Snow flurries!
We awoke from our afternoon nap to falling snow - enough to make a snowman!
By evening, there was a enough to make an even bigger snow fella!
And while we're out here, we might as well try out the new snow shoes!
Sunday:
Measurable accumulation!
Waking up to a few inches of snow and a sky full of snow floating to the ground!
We had to get right out, first thing in the morning, to check out yesterday's snowman covered in fresh snow
and make a bigger, better one!
Our planned snow day at the mountains with friends turned into a day of snow play at home! Same fun! All day! No drive! Way better than the original plan!!!
Sledding at LBA Park:
Allison's first sled ride!
Peyton takes a turn, while Daddy and our friends watch from below.
Gearing up for an afternoon in the snow.
Allison and I set out on an afternoon walk around the neighborhood to check-out the newest neighbors: Snowmen!
But first we check out an igloo in the making!
(Notice that Peyton is standing in the middle of it)
After watching still more snow fall during dinner, we decided to get outside one last time and take an evening walk/sled ride in the snow. Besides, Peyton and Daddy had worked for several hours on their igloo project and were excited to share their final product.
Nice work, guys!

Monday:
More snow flurries!

Mid-day touch-ups on the igloo.
An impromptu snowball fight in the front yard with neighbors as the sun went down!
Tuesday:
The calm before the big storm, it seems.
Flurries with some welcome sun breaks.
Also, Steve's one and only work day for the week. We could get used to that schedule!
Peyton gives his snowshoes another try and hikes around the neighborhood!
He was fascinated with the footprints he made in the fresh snow. They say the next 24 hours will be the kind of snow storm we'll remember for years. We're waiting...
