We've got talent, yes, we do!

Yesterday was the much anticipated school talent show.  For a year, Peyton has had his sights set on playing the Star Wars theme song, on the piano.  Several weeks ago, at his piano lesson, he shared his plan with his teacher.  She had the sheet music, but it was more advanced music than Peyton had been  playing.  While she planned to find a more appropriate version for his skill level, Peyton was undeterred.  It took focus, determination and grit, but Peyton learned the piece.  In the end, he decided he was not performance ready.  So, the piece did not get the overwhelming applause he may have envisioned in his dreams because, in the end, he went with Plan B.  Instead of a solo piano performance, Peyton joined up with a group to show their dance talent.  He and 3 other third grade boys entertained their audience of parents, teachers, classmates and friends, with their version of a dance competition.  The boys competed to see which of them could do "The Floss" dance the longest (or fastest, or both?) to the song, "Tsunami," by DVBBS & Borgeous.  You could tell the boys had fun up on stage and their audience loved it!  Participating just for fun was great opportunity for Peyton.  I'm happy for him that he chose to experience the talent show this year and I'm more importantly, I'm pretty sure he's happy about it, too!
On stage left to right:  Peyton, Blake, Noa, Kaden.
