Today's big adventure?
In his mind, this was just another trip to see Daddy at work. Probably because of frequent visits to the office last week (we were a one car family for a while and so Peyton and I shuttled Steve to and from work), Peyton was quite familiar with the company at the office and knew right where to find his Daddy. And his "treat" in the toy box on the way out the door, too! After we announced ourselves at the front desk, Peyton took charge of the waiting room and the toy box. He has played with these toys enough, he thinks they are his. But, at the first opportunity, Peyton bolted for the open door to the back of the office, past the familiar faces at the front desk and hollered "dada" up and down the hall until he found the room that Steve was working in. (For some reason, for the past couple of days, Peyton has only had one volume - LOUD!)
But, this "happy visit" wasn't going to be with Steve. We decided it would be best if Peyton saw Dr. Heather, Steve's associate, instead. It turned out to be a good decision. Everyone could just be themselves and do their job. I felt like I could just be a mom and Peyton was able to interact with his "dentist" instead of confusing this relationship by having it be his "dad" sitting there.
Peyton did great. He liked climbing up on the big chair all by himself and really loved playing with the water and the suction. All the attention? Yeah, of course he loved all that, too. While the pictures only show him playing, he did even open his mouth and let Dr. Heather (or dah-da hi-ya, as Peyton later called her), take a peek inside his mouth.
