April Birthdays

A few weekends ago, Gavin and Hazel drove down to help celebrate the April birthday's in our family - my dad on the 16th and my aunt on the 17th. Like most of our family gatherings, Peyton was in bed before dinner time and missed out on the entertainment of singing and cake. He didn't miss out on any opportunity to do his own bit of entertaining, however.

Peyton adores his aunt and uncle and loves his time with them. When he sees them in pictures now his eyes light up and he shouts out their names. In person, he enjoys showing off his new tricks each visit. He really amps up his energy and his skills for his new audience. This visit he impressed them with his ability to fasten his own highchair buckle, almost as much as he impressed them with his endurance to go at it. Uncle Gavin was roped right in to undo the fastened buckle. Many minutes into the game, Gavin was still at Peyton's beckon call after each fasten, to unhook, so Peyton could do it all over again. Saved by the bedtime bell, I wonder how long each of them would have lasted at this game?!

While the rest of us stayed indoors due to rain, Steve and Peyton ventured outside for some fresh air and puddle jumping time.
