Newest Addition

Two weeks ago, two giant boxes arrived at our house. Unopened, they sat in our living room for a week. Typical.

Peyton was curious and we were tired of the new furniture arrangement. We were also eager to meet our newest addition. So, we finally opened the two giant boxes last weekend. Much to the surprise and enjoyment of all parties in the house, we welcomed, The Chariot, to our family.

For those of you who aren't familiar, The Chariot, is the Cadillac of bike trailers. It rides along nice and smooth, with all the bells and whistles. Peyton was thrilled and immediately climbed right in. He was ready for the test ride hours before we were, helmet on and everything.

Since it took us twice as long to get out of the house, it was past lunch and almost nap time once we actually started our bike ride. So, our first ride took us about a mile up the road to the neighborhood park, where we had a picnic lunch and played on the toys, before returning home for a nap.

But the story does not end here. Oh, no. What about those two giant boxes? Well, those two giant boxes still sit in my living room. And sometimes the kitchen, or the bedroom. Typical.

They've provided endless hours, now days and weeks, of entertainment for Tae Boy. Coincidently, they've grown on me, too. Maybe it's because there's less floor space to vacuum. Or maybe it's because I don't care if they get dripped, spit, colored or sat upon. Or maybe it's because my son will truly sit for long periods of time and entertain himself in these boxes leaving me with time. To do what? Watch. Or play. It's too darn cute not to! So, I just sit and watch while Peyton is hard at play, or sometimes, I climb in too. There's room. These are giant boxes after all.
